The PLAY Boulder Foundation supports and advocates for parks and recreation programs and services in the Boulder, Colorado area. By donating in support of your favorite program or facility, you can experience first hand the results of your giving while providing improvements for all to enjoy. YOUTH SERVICES INITIATIVEThe City of Boulder Youth Services Initiative is a community based after school and summer program for youth living in public housing, which encourages positive recreational lifestyle choices. Our mission is to provide youth from low income families the opportunities and resources necessary to make positive recreational, educational and lifestyle choices. The City of Boulder Youth Services Initiative represents an expansion of the Youth Recreation Program (YRP), a community outreach program targeting low income youth in the City of Boulder. Initiated more than 11 years ago in response to high rates of vandalism, smoking and drug use among youth in public housing communities.
EXPANDThe Exciting Programs Adventures and New Dimensions (EXPAND) program is part of the City of Boulder Parks & Recreation Department. EXPAND helps people who have disabilities improve and gain new recreation and leisure skills that will enhance participants’ overall well being and their quality of life. Participation in EXPAND programs means making new friends, learning new skills, improving fitness, developing self confidence, improving social skills and most important of all — Having FUN!
